We aim to support Children in realizing All Saints’ vision of praise, friendship, service, and faithful stewardship. We will offer age-specific and intergenerational opportunities for children to participate in this vision.
Weekly Offerings
Inclusion always: children of all ages are welcome to participate in the age-specific offerings listed below, or join the broader All Saints community in all activities at all times.
Littlest Saints
During Sunday’s 10:15 service, children ages 0-1 are welcome to be with their parents in the sanctuary or on the stage behind the sanctuary, where a speaker will broadcast the service. In this way, the stage can be used as a “cry room” or to engage our youngest children in a light-filled space with a changing table and toys for entertainment.
Toddler and Early Elementary Saints
We invite children ages 1-6 to the stage behind the sanctuary during Sunday’s 10:15 service for art and play time, led by a dedicated care provider. Time will be primarily child-directed with weekly art projects available along with a variety of toys and games. Parents/guardians are welcome to join the community in the sanctuary or spend time with their children. Care will commence each Sunday morning at 9:30am and run until church ends.
Middle-Grade Saints
We invite children ages 7-13 who wish to participate to the wicker room at Sunday’s 10:15 worship service after the processional. Here, a rotation of church adults will lead weekly learning time on topics relevant to the lectionary or broadly foundational Christian values. Learning time will end before communion, at which point children are invited back to the sanctuary for prayer and worship with the community.
Big Saints
We invite children ages 14-18 to join the community in the sanctuary for more dedicated worship time. Older children who wish to participate are invited to periodically serve at the altar or to assist as readers. As interested, we support older children through confirmation. We also support older children to participate more deeply in our parish ministries (e.g. food pantry, altar guild, or any other area of interest to our older children).
Support for families with children
- We share information and resources to help families grow their faith practices at home.
- Fun faith formation opportunities within the Diocese of California. We can help facilitate learning more about and/or registering for these opportunities.
- Vacation Bible School (day camp) for elementary school age. In 2026, the Castro Valley parish in our deanery will hold theirs at the end of July.
- Summer camp at Bishop’s Ranch (scholarships available). Sleepaway camps for deepening spirit, experiencing nature, and making friends.
