Before our Palm Sunday service, go outside, find a palm frond, or a yucca branch, or any branch of any type and Fr. Justin will ask God’s blessing on them during our Palm Sunday service.

Zoom Maundy Thursday

Liturgy of the Word with Agape Feast
Congregants are invited to have bread (of any type) and wine or grape juice. We will not be celebrating the Eucharist (i.e. no consecration), but will have an Agape meal, remembering the Last Supper.
Stripping of the altar (removing all ornaments, linens, candles, plants, flowers, etc.) is an ancient custom of the Church. Congregations mark the way Christ’s life was stripped from him by stripping the altar of all signs of life and beauty during a special service. This almost-bare worship space reminds us of the bareness of life without the hope of Christ that we have through His Resurrection.
As we are not using our worship space, we invite you at the end of this service to go through your own house to gather all icons and religious symbols that can be easily moved (crosses, statues, candles, prayer beads, etc.). We encourage you to work silently as a sign of respect for the task. Pack these items away in the storage bin until Easter.
