We are happy to offer the Sacred Ground Curriculum, developed by the Episcopal Church, starting on July 12, 2020. The course will be led by Amy Cook and the Rev. Pam Jester.
“Sacred Ground: A Film-Based Dialogue Series on Race & Faith” is a 10-part series built around a powerful online curriculum of documentary films and readings that focus on Indigenous, Black, Latino, and Asian/Pacific American histories as they intersect with European American histories. We plan on offering 10 sessions and then taking a break before completing the series. Here are the dates:
We ask that you make the commitment to attend at least 5 of the sessions. There are some longer films – up to 75 minutes – that we ask you to watch before our sessions. After registration, you will be sent a link with access to all the materials for this course – including the movie links. There is a 75-minute movie to watch before Sunday, July 12, so please sign up soon.
These are important conversations, and these films and guides allow us to explore as a community of faith – learning and growing together in love. I hope that church is a safe place for us to have these conversations.
