Dear Saints,
At All Saints we have been closely following recommendations from our Diocese, the California Department of Public Health, and the Alameda County Public Health Department concerning recommended safety measures to take in this midst of this coronavirus pandemic. The Bishop has asked churches in the diocese to cancel all public worship services for the month of March, and All Saints is observing this request.
In light of this request, and further recommendations, we will be canceling the following offerings:
- Sunday 8am & 10:15am worship services and Coffee Hour
- Wednesday noontime Celtic Mass
- Tuesday Centering Prayer & Thursday Christian Meditation
- The 3/15 cooking class with Carole Lee
- The 3/29 Mamma Mia luncheon at the church
- Our Lenten Soup & Film series
- Wednesday Bible Study
Further, all Wellness Center activities will be cancelled for March 2020 or until further notice.
In lieu of service on Sunday, each week we will send out a sermon (text or recording), readings for the Sunday, and encourage people to use Pray As You Go (https://pray-as-you-go.org/), which offers scripture, meditation, and music. This will also be posted on Facebook and our website homepage.
While we will not be holding public worship service, we encourage you to please stay in touch with your fellow saints. This perhaps is an opportunity to connect more individually, to find a prayer buddy, or to be more intentional about calling one another to check in with each other.
Of course, this situation with COVID-19 is evolving and guidance from the county and diocese may change, even on a daily basis. I will keep the community informed by email, Facebook, and texting. If you are not on my texting list, please subscribe by texting the word EZSAINTS to 313131 and you’ll be added to the list. May we keep one another in prayer for good health, good spirits, and may we pray for deepened bonds of connection in new and unexpected ways.
Peace,
Fr. Justin+
