Celebration of Saints and Bees

Date: Sunday, December 6
St. Nicholas visit at the end of 10:15am service & Happy Hour Program 12:00–1:00 p.m.

Join us on Sunday, December 6, for a special Celebration of Saints and Bees, honoring the Feast of Saint Nicholas, the Feast of Saint Ambrose—the patron saint of beekeepers and apiculture—and the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. At the conclusion of the 10:15am liturgy, we will have a visit from St. Nicholas and hear why he is honored for his extraordinary generosity and kindness, especially toward children and the poor. During Happy Hour from 12:00–1:00 p.m., join us for “Sacred Bees,” a special program exploring the environmental and spiritual importance of bees. Jerry Przybylski, representing the Alameda County Beekeepers Association, will share why bees are essential to our environment and what we can do to support and protect them. Dr. Yorlis Delgado Luna, coordinator of Abejas Sin Fronteras (Bees Without Borders), will reflect on the Spirituality of Bees. The program will include time for questions and answers, along with a tasting of delicious honey. Come celebrate the saints, learn about these remarkable creatures, and discover the connections between creation, community, and spirituality.
