On Sunday, July 21, we will hold a Celebration of Female Liberators and Prophets, commemorating the Feast of Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Amelia Bloomer, Sojourner Truth, and Harriet Ross Tubman (whose collective feast day is July 20). The Rev. Pam Jester will preach. All the music will focus on the prophetic role women have held in the life of the church from biblical times until now, drawing largely from Voices Found: Women in the Church’s Song, a rich collection of hymns and spiritual songs by, for, and about women.
