Social Ministry : Opportunities for Service

The Social MinistriesTeam at All Saints is the group that figures out what the community needs and then gathers up the energy, spirit and people to go out and tend to those needs.

We’ve always been active, but we turned up our endeavors a notch this past year with something called All Saints in Action. Each month during one of the 10:00 service coffee hours, we gathered under the Action banner and assembled mailings for Building Futures with Women and Children or put together toiletry packets for the April Showers program. There were always at least a dozen folks doing God’s work and thoroughly enjoying the fellowship.

We now have a new meal hospitality program right here at All Saints. It is an extension of the terrifically successful April Showers program and will include the good spirit of our partners in the Interfaith Homelessness Network.

A Personal Note From Team Leader Tom Breckenridge

I am so uplifted by being with the clients and volunteers at April Showers – by clients deeply in need and by volunteers deeply moved by the Holy Spirit. The Showers are a gathering that functions at the essence of God’s mission of reconciliation. My prayer for the new year is for that mission to go forward robustly. My belief is that All Saints is where it will happen.
