On Monday, December 11th, you are invited to join us for a lunch and learn with Cheryl M. Poncini, Deputy District Attorney, Alameda County District Attorney’s Office Elder Protection Unit.
“To those seniors, and especially elderly veterans like myself, I want to tell you this: You are not alone, and you have nothing to be ashamed of. If elder abuse happened to me, it can happen to anyone. I want you to know that you deserve better.” – Mickey Rooney
Seniors are often victims of elder abuse: physical, emotional, sexual, financial, verbal, and neglect are all forms of elder abuse. Friends, family, contractors, and members of the community can be absusers. Scams, identity theft, and unwanted solicitations can be overwhelming. Learn to recognize the signs and symptoms to empower yourself and your loved ones to get help.
